Mono-crystal or Poly-crystal Panels?Updated 2 years ago
There are significant differences in the efficiency of production and photoelectric conversion between monocrystalline and polycrystalline cells.
Monocrystalline solar cells are made of monocrystalline silicon. The surface of monocrystalline solar cells is mostly dark blue or black. There is no crystal structure. Polycrystalline solar cells use polycrystalline silicon as the raw material. The surface of polycrystalline solar cells is mostly blue, with different sizes and shapes of crystal structures, and the direction of crystallization is not the same.
In terms of photoelectric conversion efficiency, the photoelectric conversion efficiency of monocrystalline solar panels is about 20.2% - 22.4%, even higher. Whereas, the conversion efficiency of the polycrystalline solar [panel is about 18.6%.
